Holding an impressive discography with numerous singles, EPs and album, DOWNHILLFROMHERE, the Lowkey Introvert becomes more and more refined with each release. Self produced by Shoticaury and mixed by Alex Taylor, ROWDY ROWDY is an eclectic blend on different textures, and a true harmonic collage.
What I always find so endearing about Shoticaury’s music is the effortlessness in the performance. Whilst the vocals are fast-cut and hard hitting, the flow is unbelievably smooth between the different textures explored by the voice. From hidden guttural shouts to rhythmic progressions, the vocals craft an abundant canvas of artistry.
The ebb and flow of the track’s energy keeps you on your toes in a consistent flow of originality. Opening with a monologue over piano chords and teasing rhythmic elements, the track lays the roots for the track to gradually build upon itself. A full kit and a leading synth shadow the opening beats and continuous piano chords in a surge of adrenaline half way through the track, later peeling itself away leaving Shoticaury’s vocals wrapped in a fuzzy and hazed atmosphere as the track fades out. Despite reaching just over 02:30, ROWDY ROWDY is a fierce, tactical and all round impressive release in preparation for Shoticaury’s upcoming album.
